Are you a mother raising Jewish children … but you’re not Jewish? Don't do it alone!

Hanukkah Helper Holiday Prep Class, a fun, free, interactive single-session class that will prepare mothers of other backgrounds (and family members who may be interested) for celebrating Hanukkah in an enjoyable, meaningful way with their Jewish children, is coming to Indianapolis!

Beyond just an outline of the Hanukkah story, symbols and ritual, Hanukkah Helper delves into topics such as the history of Hanukkah observance in North American Hanukkah, as well as how to navigate the winter holiday season in a Jewish context. All this culminates in experiencing Hanukkah through food and song, as it offers tips on how to go beyond gift-giving to make Hanukkah a meaningful family experience.

The Mothers Circle provides FREE education and support for women of other faith traditions who are raising Jewish children in the context of an interfaith marriage or committed relationship with a Jewish partner

Classes meet approximately twice a month and focus on Jewish rituals, ethics, and the how-to’s of creating a Jewish home. Come be a part of this warm and nurturing environment and feel empowered to take on the responsibility of raising children in Judaism.

The free course is held at the Arthur M. Glick JCC and is made possible through the generous support of David and Betty Klapper, the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis and the Sisterhoods of Congregation Beth-El Zedeck, Congregation Shaarey Tefilla and Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation.
